BIO


I’m Angela Ying Neubauer, an Austrian-Chinese designer, maker and storyteller based in Vienna.



Passionate about shaping optimistic futures, I combine my conceptual work with hands-on prototyping to explore themes like ecology, interdependence and care.

From workshop builds to Unreal Engine renderings, I work with a vast array of materials and techniques to create evocative installations and experiences that invite to think, question, and occasionally wonder what world you’ve landed in.

My works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Ars Electronica Festival, Vienna Design Week, Biennale Warszawa and Digital Art Festival Zurich, received an honorary mention at Prix Ars Electronica and a nomination for the STARTS Prize.

I am currently studying at Design Investigations (Prof. Anab Jain) at the Univesity of Applied Arts Vienna, am a member of Trotz Kollektiv and - from march to september - an attentive caregiver of 58 tomato plants.
